Acura TLX Sedan Boosting Image
Acura is looking for an image makeover, and the brand is counting on it's new TLX sedan to lead the way. The new TLX sedan is pulling double duty and replacing both the TSX and the TL in the brand's line-up. The company is loosening the purse strings on the new car's budget, with a broad marketing campaign across TV, sports, and online media included a Facebook campaign expected to reach every single Facebook user. Acura is hoping that such wide exposure will help revive the brand's stale image. Acura's brand manager Mike Accavitti said: "It’s not like we have a bad reputation that we need to overcome," he said. "It’s just we have a nondescript reputation."Acura has never spent so much as they have planned for the TLX's ad campaign, not even on last year's launch of the redesigned MDX, the company's top selling car. "TLX is a brand-new nameplate," said Accavitti. "We have to tell consumers what a TLX is, and we have to spend more." More

Acura NSX Supercar
Acura is set to debut it's NSX supercar at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January. This is no mere concept car, it's a production version. The original NSX, created in 1991 and discontinued in 2005 is the inspiration for the new model, set to become the brand's halo car. Acura has high hopes that the NSX will breathe some new life into the brand, and boost car sales as it takes on the Audi R8 and Porsche 911. Acura car sales are not currently keeping up with the market, which has grown 5.5 percent this year. The company is doing much better with their light trucks, up 13 percent this year. “The next-generation NSX will deliver a 'new sports experience' true to its heritage and to the supercar concept that originally gave rise to the name NSX,” said Mike Accavitti, Acura division senior vice president and general manager, in a statement. “The NSX will serve as the ultimate expression of Acura performance that is fuelling a re-energized brand.” More
